Public Videoconferencing Rooms

NUIT Scheduled and Supported Public Rooms

Academic Technologies is responsible for the build-out, technology upgrade and support for two videoconference rooms on campus.  Tech L363 and Wieboldt 421 can be scheduled by using our scheduling system, the other rooms below can be requested for use through the appropriate contact.  See our Evanston or Chicago videoconference locations page for more details.

On the Evanston campus, the Tech Institute L363 room has a videoconferencing system with multiple cameras, display monitors and a projection system, speakers and ceiling microphones.  This room is used on a regular basis and our support covers system operation and functionality, assistance with setup and testing for videoconferences as well as on-site support for the beginning of a videoconference to ensure its success.

On the Chicago campus, the Wieboldt Hall 421 room also has videoconferencing integrated with a projector and plasma displays, high definition cameras, speakers and ceiling microphones.  We have just resumed videoconferencing after a complete upgrade of the technology.  With regular use of this room, we continue to make sure it is in good working condition and are present to assist with getting videoconferences started as well as testing with other sites beforehand.

NUIT Supported Videoconference Rooms

The Forum Room in the University Library is also supported by NUIT's Academic Technologies, but scheduling is granted by the Library.  This room is equipped with monitors and a projection system, ceiling microphones and a control system which allows for easier operation of the videoconferencing system.  While priority is given to classes and other Library events, requests for scheduling can be submitted through our videoconference scheduling system.

Swift Hall 107 is a Registrar controlled classroom which has been integrated with videoconferencing technology.  Academic Technologies provides support for videoconferences between Swift Hall and other videoconference rooms on or off campus. The room has a single projector, multiple plasma displays, and two wireless microphones.  Videoconferencing in Swift 107 typically occurs with the Chicago campus to allow for remote viewing and participation from students and faculty at the downtown campus.
